[Free report] Know about the Drainages in Rwanda and some of their uses

by Kevin RUSAGARA IRAGUHA | 18-10-2020 06:34

Rwanda is divided into two major drainage basins: the Nile to the east covering 67 per cent and delivering 90 per cent of the national waters and the Congo to the west which covers 33 per cent and handles all national waters. And these are the drainage basins found in Rwanda with their coverage. Let's get to know more about their usage...

Water is one of the important resources for human survival not only in Rwanda but also world wide. Sources of water in Rwanda include lakes, rivers, swamps and ground water.

Availability, access to water and supply plays an important role in the type and distribution of plants, animals and human activities. Even though Rwanda has many water resources, they are not enough to serve all people equally and for a long time. Consequently, there is need for Rwanda to manage and conserve the available water resources.
But though these drainages are not enough, Rwanda tries it's best to equally distribute them and provides the population with covering some of their needs. Most of these drainages are used to provide the electricity to the population hence decreasing the number of people without reliable energy towards providing reliable energy to all, secondly these are used in the irrigation processes towards developing our country as in Agriculture ranks as the best sector in Rwanda that works effectively.
