by Meena Pandey | 30-09-2020 21:20

Successfully, I have completed ¡®Online Crossword Puzzle- II¡¯. The main aim of conducting this campaign is to let participants play and learn at a time. The puzzle solely comprise the words related to the environment. On doing so, the participants feel eager to find the words related to the environment so as to solve the puzzle. The people can find themselves being interested to know about the environment. This campaign is my efforts to make people concern about the environment and its components. Also, this time along with playing puzzle respondents were requested to share their eco-practices. On doing so, the idea of eco-practices can be disseminated among the tunza members and also the nature lover. They can imitate such practices in their lives and encourage others to follow those ecopractices. Only one respondents had not followed any ecopractices yet.

Environment affects our health, our existence and our economy. ¡®As we sow, so we reap¡¯, the sustainability of the nature depends on how we treat them. Earth does not belong to us but we belong to the earth. We are being so cruel that in the name of making our needs fulfill, we are using the earth¡¯s natural resources haphazardly.

I will be conducting this campaign every month. In the second session, the respondents were asked two questions i.e.
What are the eco-practices you have followed? And If you have photographs of your eco-practice, kindly attach here.

The answers I had got from the respondents; I have presented here so as to convey the eco-practices people are doing from the corner of different world. Also, I will be presenting the photographs they shared me in gallery session regarding the ecofriendly practices. The respondents were from many countries including Nepal, Zambia, Uzbekistan, United states of America, Nigeria, Pakistan, India and so on.

I have practiced eco- practices such as afforestation, management of wastes around my home as well as university premises and so on. I have been working on groundwater preservation also planting trees in my society. the most important aspect of a sustainable environment is educating people regarding waste management. I have done my part to make it successful reaching each and every person I know. I avoided the use of machines that expel CCLs to the environment.

I ensured that my surroundings are clean at all times. I avoided the cutting down of tress for wood. I avoided and discouraged the indiscriminate killing of animals. I plant a tree every year to encourage the breeding of more plant species. Reuse of plastic pots, old tin pots for plantation of flowers, medicinal plants such as aloevera, basil etc. Rooftop farming with vermicomposting production for organic farming. Lights off while going out. Using cloth bags. Recuse of plastic & tin cans.

Preparing compost manure from biodegradable wastages and using them in gardening. I try my best to be friendly with environment. I enjoy plantation of trees, kitchen gardening, reuse and recycling of waste products, preparing compost of vegetable wastes. Besides, I actively take part in creating awareness program and environment related public campaigns. Being an eco-practitioner, I've followed many eco-friendly activities like Planting trees, reducing plastics, reusing and recycling the products, Consuming less energy (eg: drive less; walk more, using public vehicles, taking a short shower), Buying durable products, Eating locally grown vegetables, Buying package-free products (eg: soap, shampoos), Reading newspapers and various publications online, Waste segregation, Home Composting, Joining many environmental groups to aware about sustainability. Being a school student, I haven't got the chance to involve in lots of activities and campaigns and do not have the ability to try out something big. So, according to my ability I have tried my best to utilize all the things available in my home. I have made some paper bags, also utilized the left overs of the plastic book cover for making flowers for decoration. I have used cardboards and newspapers for photo frames. Also, me and my mother have started making compost fertilizer ourselves at home. I have started planting a tree marking my birthday and have participated in many plantation programs. I carry my own water bottles while going somewhere and suggests others to do so. I have reused the wasted sacks and plastic cans, bottles for planting flowers. I have been reusing plastics for multiple times and suggesting my customers to reuse the plastics that they use while buying vegetables, fruits, sugar, etc. I am interested in making arts and crafts from the waste papers and have made items from those waste papers. Wherever I go, I don't throw the waste carelessly. I bring back those wastes and throw them in proper place even if it is chewing gum or something else. Actually I have following those practices which are possible in daily life and help environment to become sustainable.

I have stopped burning plastics and throw them here and there because I believe in reuse, reduce and recycle.

I am making compost to replace chemical fertilizer and pesticides cause they affects environment and human health badly. And I am planting flowers in my garden, planting fruits trees like mango, litchi. Beside these I have gathered children of my village and gave them knowledge about conservational environment.

And I really hope to gain lots of knowledge from the page of tunza econetwork. Use of solar power.
