Every year world tourism day is celebrated on 27 September since 1980.The main theme of world tourism day 2020 is tourism and rural development. Tourism has vital role to provide opportunities to people of rural areas, to preserve natural heritage and culture all around the world. Tourism sector is greatly hit by Covid 19 pandemic. According to UN world tourism organization, 100 to 120 million jobs are at risk. World tourism day 2020 is an opportunity to recognise the potential of tourism in building a better future for all. In history of 40 years world tourism day has not celebrated by single member of UN specialized agency. Nepal is one of the best destination for tourism in world. Every years large number of tourist from different country visit to nepal with different purposes such as trekking mountaineering, rafting etc.Tourism sector give major contribution to our national economy. Tourism have a great role in developing of rural communities. Nepal government expect to enter 2 million tourist in our country this year 2020 with campign visit Nepal 2020. owing to Covid 19 pandemic many people are out of job in sector of tourism and hospitality. In previous years tourist has overcrowded in sagarmatha, Annapurna region during spring season. Customer of hotel and restaurant has decreased in this year. People of himalayan region mainly depends on tourism for their livelihood. Government has initiated to promote domestic tourism. Government should plan a effective ways to improve tourism sector in coming days. |
