Global Warming: A threat for present and future Generation

by Sandhya Adhikari | 26-09-2020 03:15

"The sky is falling, The sky is falling" we can hear this phrase in folktales as a "wolfcry" the cry that is so ridiculous that nobody would believe it. now the global warming, a wolfcry that nobody still believes, has been a major environmental issue and major subject of concern. Global warming is the rise in the temperature of Earths atmosphere and oceans since the late 19th century and its projected continuation, since the early 20th century. Earth's mean surface temperature has increased by about 1.4degree Fahrenheit with about two thirds of the increase occuring since 1980s.
Warming of climate system is unequivocal and scientista are more than 90% certain that it is primarily caused by increasing concentration of greenhouse gases produced by human activities such as burning of fossils fuels and deforestation. Climate model projection were summarited in the 2007 Fourth Assessment Report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC). They indicated that during the 21st century the global surface temperature is likely to rise a further 1.1 to 2.9 degree celsius for their lowest emissions scenario and 2.4 to 6.4 degree celsius for their highest. According to AR4, Warming and related changes will vary from region to region around the globe. The effect of an increase in global temperature add the increase in the sea level, residual precipitation, abnormal expansion of deserts. The abnormal melting of glaciers, icebergs and rise of sea level, we can predict the effect.

Still there is the debate about the cause and consequences of global warming all across the world. The rising temperature presents a huge threat to our ice caps.layer of ice that have not melted for thousands of years are beginning to melt. Warming seems to be most strongest in the Arctic and would be associated with the continuing retreat of glaciers, permafost and seaice. One of the biggest ice sheet on the planet, located in Greenland, is at the threat and great risk of splitting apart and falling into the oceans while it doesn't sound like a big deal but the loss of the Greenland ice sheet will cause Catastrophic circumstances worldwide. The grernhouse gases are so much important to maintain the surface temperature of earth. It is believed and said that without greenhouse gases the earth would be 91.4 degree hotter than the current temperature. Automobiles, heat from homes and business and factories are responsible for about 80% of todays carbondioxides emission 25% methane and 20% of nitrousoxide emission which has created a great significance in increasing the emission of greenhouse gases that are trapping more and more amount of light and tremendously increasing the earths temperature unusually and causing the most devastating problems called Global Warming.

Can you imagine a life with a surface of earth heated so enormously?
Can you imagine a life when all the sea levels rises and affects the coastal areas along with destruction on the productive land?
Can you imagine a life in a varied unadaptable climatic condition?
A BIG QUESTION MARKS???STILL UNSOLVED MYSTRY!!!!

Global warming can affect our future ability to obtain food, As climate changes plants and animals will change, treading to change the eating pattern of humans. Excessive rainfall, uncontrolled flood, dreadful drought condition decreases the productivity in the agricultural land and are also the consequences of Global warming. The devastating effect will be on the economics as due to increase in the sea level it will causes disaster for the wastal cities that represents some of the largest and most important commerce across the world, Manhatten would be sunk, much of Florida would be underwater, and that wouldn't be enough to mention the worldwide consequences. The crop yield will be affected by the rising land becomes barren, natural disaster will be blessings, transition into desert land.
Opps!!! the problems can't be mentioned within a words. This dreadful situation should be reduced as soon as possible otherwise our beautiful mother Earth will lose it originality.
IF NOT WE THEN WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF OUR EARTH?
IF NOT TODAY THEN WHEN?
We are the cause, and we ourself are the sufferer. I am so much pleased to see now that some child like Greta Thunberg, a 16 year old girl is protesting for climate change and from all across the world young are involving. If we dont solve this problem today then our future generation will never know the originality of the earth. So in order to solve this problem to some extent genetically modified plant should be engineered that will completely recycle Carbondioxides. Moreover oceans should be repaenshied with more algae which will reduce Carbondioxide. Proposed policy responses to global warming include mitigation by emission, reduction, adaptation to its effects and possible future geoengineering. Every government from the globe should look forward to reduce the climate change, then only we can imagine beautiful Earth.
Green cheers!!!
