Volunteerism: Humanity Matters!!!

by Sandhya Adhikari | 31-08-2020 04:19

What a wonderful message that UN secretary General has passed to us, This is the time for prudence, not panic science  not stigma, Facts not fear. Even though the situation has been classifies as a pandemic, it is one we can control. We can slow down transmission, prevent infections and save lives. But that will take unprecedented personal, national and international action. COVID-19 is our common enemy. We must declare war on this virus. That means countries have a responsibility to gear up, step up and scale up. Along with this individual has too responsibility to join and assist one another to rack up these all un avoidable truth. I believe volunteerism is the one we can do most these period for the humanity and for the prosperity. When you are volunteer, you are making connections. This connects us to other human beings as we are working for the common goal. This is the time when one human needs another, Here in Nepal I am totally disappointed with some of the freaking news, those medical personnel who are working and volunteering to safeguard the citizens health are being humiliated and are socially boycotted which is one of the saddened and inhuman behaviour  that the health workers of our countries are facing. So with the aim to stand against these issues we are pressurizing government, individual through the poster campaign in Nepal. I am very glad to be the part of these sort of vibrant works. Hope all the health worker are treated with respect, and all those misbehaving issues ends so soon.My poster campaign

I am also very glad to share with you all that I got an opportunity to work as a volunteer for COVID-19 relief and food distribution campaign in my community. Since pregnant women, children and old age people are the most affected one during this covid-19 crisis either in immunity or in availability of food , with the joint collaboration of NGOs and local government of our municipality, they had organized food distribution campaigns, mask distribution to pregnant women of our society maintaining social distancing and precautionary measures. Being a responsible citizen inspired by my mother who is working for community welfare since the outburst of pandemics I realized my responsibility for the society as well and start to work by taking total precaution . I volunteer them by collecting data of pregnant women of my community and assist to make the arrangement for the programme. It was indeed a very satisfactory work to give something back to the society during this period. We had also discussed about the proper disposal of mask and we provided them cotton mask which could be reused again.

So what I would like to request to the young generation  that we are the future of tomorrow, we are indebted to the society , community and as a whole nation, so act in such a way that it became an inspiration to others, Everyone matter in the society, everyone makes the place beautiful, so respect everyone and work for the humanity. HUMANITY MATTERS !!!!!
