Sustainable Development Goals: Targets, Achievements, Strategies and Future Strategies in context of Nepal

Sustainable Development Goals 17
Partnership for the goals.

This goal comes under Equity of Sustainable Development Goals. I will be addressing about strengthening the means of implementation and revitalizing global partnership

This goal mainly focuses to adhere multistakeholder partnerships, to mobilize and share knowledge, expertise, technologies and financial resources, to support the achievement of SDGs in all countries and to seek to encourage and promote effective public, public-private and civil society.
The target for this goal is to mobilize the resources to improve domestic revenue collection. The indicator would be total government revenues as a proportion of GDP by source. It is targets to 30% by 2030. The next indicator for this target is proportion of domestic budgets funded by domestic taxes.

The next target is to promote sustainable technologies to developing countries. The indicator is total amount of approved funding for developing countries to promote the development, transfer, dissemination and diffusion of environmentally sound technologies.

The next target is to strengthen the science, technology and innovation capacity for least developed countries. The indicator is proportion of individuals using internet. It was 19.69% of population in 2016 which reached to 65.9% by 2019 exceeding the target of 65%.

The strength to achieve this goal are:
1. In context of partnership initiatives and voluntary commitments, Nepal is enlisted as a lead entity.
- South Asia Cooperative Environment Program, inter-governmental organization of eight south Asian countries including Nepal.
-Community forest program in Nepal.
-Solidarity with small island developing stated
-The Nepal trade integration strategies
-Creating more informed and aware citizenry

However, private and public sector investment financing gap and lack of strong partnership among them still exist. Inequality within and among countries is widespread. Capacity is deficit at institutional level. Some of the global technologies may or may not be fitted in our countries.
Having said that, partnership is of utmost important whether it is for running a business or a country or whole world.
