[Thematic Report] The Environment and Me

by Nikolay Dagaev | 13-08-2020 22:36

I am the regional Ambassador of Tunza in Russia for a period of 4. In this report, I want to summarize my activities during this period.
During this time, I have published more than 40 reports on various topics on the Tunza platform. This helped me develop my written communication skills, gain new knowledge about ecology while preparing my own reports and reading the reports of my colleagues.

I am happy to know that I am a part of such a large, friendly and responsible community. I want to thank all the eco-ambassadors and mentors for the feedback I received on my articles.

During this time, I tried to involve as many people as possible in our community. Regularly published posts and articles on eco-related topics in social networks.

Among my successful projects in the field of ecology, I consider the implementation of a separate garbage collection project in my school. By joining forces with our class members, as well as with a graduate of our school, an environmental student from Moscow state University, we were able to implement separate garbage collection. This system still exists today and is supported by my successors-the children of the lower grades.

Last year, I participated in the youth exchange program for students in ecology — RYEP (Russia Youth Exchange Program). Participation in it also paid off.
Thanks to RYEP, I not only gained deep knowledge in the field of ecology and sustainable development, but also gained invaluable experience in teamwork, which greatly helped me in the implementation of my project-the intellectual quiz " What? Where? When?", dedicated to environmental issues for students.
The main task of the entire RYEP is an individual project that needs to be implemented after returning from the States.
The purpose of the event was to draw the attention of young people to environmental issues, interest them in environmental issues and involve them in environmental practices.

I realized that alone is quite difficult to implement the project and appealed to Achilidae of the University. Together, we managed to gather for the University event "What? Where? When? " more than 100 people-students of different faculties of MSU: biologists, chemists, physicists, lawyers, etc.
I plan to make environmental quizzes a tradition for young people. Now I am preparing with my team for the University Environmental Festival, which for the past seven years every year attracts an audience of several thousand students who care about the topic of ecology.

In the future, I would like to make some important scientific discovery in the field of medical ecology or green chemistry — those scientific areas that are most interesting to me.
