Organic agriculture in Nepal

Organic agriculture is the natural method of agriculture production that follows eco-friendly techniques of agriculture production. It is a blend of tradition, science and modern technology on farming practises based on natural processes.

It is a practise that does not use any chemical fertilizers, pesticides, growth regulators and genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

Organic agriculture in Nepal is undoubtedly a good hope for the country. It helps to produce safe, nutritious and quality food product together with maintaining ecological balance and its sustainability. The country should develop a clear vision making long term plan on commodities should be focused. 

It holds out a big prospect specially in hills of Nepal. A witty but coordinated effort among various actors of agriculture to lift the status of organic agriculture is paramount. Policy makers should best suggest in the field of environment, PPP with inclusive business principles and fair vision and plan for execution, market development and commercialization of organic agriculture.
