Who the Youth are ?Global definition of the youth age group is not widely accepted .Nevertheless,for the statistical purposes UN describe YOUTH as anyone between the ages of 15 and 24 years ,without expectation to any other interpretation created by Member States. In 1999,The general assembly adopted the proposal made by the World Conferences of Minister responsible for youth (Lisbon, August 8-12,1998) that International Youth Day  be proclaimed August 12. The International Youth Day provides an opportunity to celebrate and encourage the voices , activities and initiatives of youth people,as well as their significant , inclusion and equal participation.

The theme of International youth day 2020 is  Youth Engagement for global action. Youth have a potential to make a change and develop country .If we talk about Nepal,more than half of youth population has gone to aboard either for employment or study. But ,due to pandemic many youth are back to Nepal which is one of good new.

On the occasion of International youth day 2020,I participated at the National Youth Conference(11-13 August),co-ordinated by Youth Advocacy Nepal (YAN) where different topics like Educational System in Nepal, Ecological democracy and Youth ,COVID-19 are discussed on.As a youth I promise myself to aware at  least my family and community about different environmental problems like Climate change, Deforestation,Water pollution,plastic pollution and so on.
