by Paras Kunwar | 02-08-2020 21:49

Golden rice
It is a variety of rice which makes beta-carotene, thus giving the rice yellow (golden) colour. It was created as an additional intervention for Vitamin A deficiency. This dietary deficiency is the most significant cause of childhood blindness and also the bigger killer of children 5 year¡¯s old, globally. White rice contain no beta-carotene and no vitamin A. Vitamin A deficiency is common in those country where rice is the staple diet.
It is safest for the encvirionment to grow the crop, and safe for humans, and animals to consume.
Regular consumption of Golden rice by people is expected to deliver health benefits by reducing complete or partial blindness cases, and reducing preventable deaths, especially to young children and mothers.
