With the COVID-19 pandemic, many regions have been placed under strict quarantine measures, and the majority of people show tendencies of staying home. This was clear when a research study showed a 50% decrease in vibrations emitted from humans (between the months of march and may). The absence of sound was a lot more conspicuous in metropolitan areas with larger populations. The Earth being relatively quieter than before has permitted researchers to investigate seismic signals (earthquake signals), that were previously unheard - due to the large magnitude of human-linked vibrations. While the current pandemic persists, researchers may find opportunities to conduct research that was not possible in the past.
