Advantages of urban farming

Nowadays urban farming is getting more focus and importance. Urban farming which is either done is large scale, low scale or very low scale but has an impact on ecosystem and other various aspects.

The advantages of focusing on urban farming are:

1.      Low but a contributing income for the utilization of leisure time for small scale urban farmers

2.      Increase of food production value in urban terrain

3.      Carbon sequestration of urban air pollutants by plants

4.      Green environments are also recommended for urban environment

In regards to the advantages the impact on life cycle assessment is much more concern able.

Nowadays, due to increase of urban populations and urban demands the local action to ensure food security is recommended. The utilization of areas like vertical farming, rooftop gardening, bottle gardening, multi storied gardening, hanging gardens and urban forests are recommended for urban environments.

Giving much focus the urban green environment has insignificantly contributing in climate change adoption and in reducing urban heat i.e. reducing the urban heat island (UHI)

 Thus, if we give more focus to urban greening in our upcoming days, then for sure th insignificant contribution remarks to the much significant contribution.
