Connect to Climate: Virtual Eco WorkShop

Virtual Eco Workshop on the title "Connect to Climate: Creating Climate Leaders" was organized on July 29 in collboaration of Tunza EcoGeneration with Climate Educartion Nexus. The workshop was organized via Zoom Workshop. This initaive was led by me as EcoGeneration Regional Ambassador to Asia. The workshop was for youth climate change enthusiasts to learn further learn about climate change advocacy and improve their journey as climate leaders in their respective communities. Workshop included many invents to provide participants a knowledge to climate change to keep them interested and interative during the workshop. The different sessions during the workshop were:
IceBreaking Session
There were two ice breaking session. During the first ice breaking session, the participants were asked to rename their name adding a climate related word that describes them the best or the climate related emoji to describe their nature.
In the second ice breaking session, the participants were asked to share there favourite climate words and the result was displayed using mentimeter which showed "Biodiversity" and "Climate Change were the favourite words used by the participants.

Introduction session
Participants were introduced to different terminologies and climate system at the beginning. Then, we discussed on what is climate change and how is it happening. The causes, impacts and conseseques of the climate change to being the global crisis to the problems people are facing locally was also discussed.

Eco Voice
This session was named "Eco Voice: Voice For the Planet" where the participants raised their voice on what climate problems we are facing and why. The participants used the medium of google jamboard to share their voice.

Climate Quiz
Various quiz questions related to climate were asked to the participants during the session. Participants shared the answer via the chatbox and we also discussed more details on answers of each questions.

Climate Action Session
The participants were introduced on what are the ways to combact climate change and how can participants be involved in taking climate actions. We also had a brief disussion on how youths can start theri climate journey.

Experience Sharing Session
We has youth climate activist sharing their climate stories and how participants can get involved in climate action. The experiences were shared by EcoGeneration Ambassador and Hidden Eco Hero Award 2019 Winner Paul Okoth, Director of Eduction and Advocacy, Climateducate Beatrice Ann and YouthLead Ambassador Philbert Aganyo

My Pledge to Nature
This was an interactive session where the participants shared their pledge that they will be doing to protect the nature and planet. All the participants pledged and shared how they are going to work for climate action.

Opportunities
Different climate related opportunities were shared among the participants along with climate related books they can read, movies they can watch and online courses that are available.

Climate Facts
The participants were shared with interesting facts and data related to the climate during this session.

Question Answer Session
The query and doubts of the participants were cleared during this session.
We had a photo session at the end showing the climate sign. I felt very glad to receive a very positive feedback about the program.
