Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

With a key to improve productivity,sustainability and resilience in agriculture,Community supported Agriculture (CSA) is the idea to balance the supply chain. This fulfill the demand of consumer toward organic, fresh food  product and also supports Local Farmers and food system.
CSA is a system that connects Producer and Consumer within a food system more closely as consumer supports farmer by investing for production. And consumer are delivered with the fresh vegetables produced in the farm weekly. It focuses on the production of high quality Foods for a local community using organic methods. It can be work out in the locality of urban area by creating consumer group that is willing to fund to consume fresh organic vegetables with minimum price. This may reduce the problem of consumer toward buying products as well as farmer problem in investment. Risk management is also taken into consideration with the aim of supplying alternative crops. It can be carried out in four ways that may be - Farmer managed.

With the aim of making Agriculture Climate Smart to tackle current Food security and Climate change, we can take CSA as organic ,sustainable agriculture idea with minimizing the gap between producer and Consumer to achieve the goal of ending hunger.
