Chimpanzee and Its Day, Celebrating our closest cousin in the animal kingdom.

I got to know about World Chimpanzee Day from Chat section and tried to explore more on chimpanzee and the day celebrated in its name. Here is a brief of what and found and felt it can be good to share with you all eco- warriors.

The main motto of celebrating World Chimpanzee Day is to raise awareness about care, conservation and protection in wild and in captivity and It is celebrated every July 14.

Goals of World Chimpanzee Day:

-To celebrated nearest living creature in animal kingdom

-Educating global audiences about the uniqueness, significance and similarities to humans.

-Create awareness about threats faces in wild comprising of habitat loss, wildlife trafficking, disease and promote proper care in captive.

Short introduction about Chimpanzee:

Chimpanzee lies in class Mammalia and family Hominidae. The scientific name of Chimpanzee is Pan troglodytes. The male weights 60kg average and female weights 35 kg in average. The lifespan is of around 32 years. The chimpanzee is native to the forest and savannah of tropical Africa. It has a black hair with a bare face, toes,  fingers and sole of feet.It is listed in IUCN Red List of endangered species.

has been reported to main cause of its declining rate. The total population is 172,700 to 299,700.
