Hello! So today I want to tell you about BOSF - Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation. 
Established in 1991, Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Foundation is an Indonesian non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the Bornean orangutan and its habitat, in cooperation with local communities, the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry and international partner organizations. BOS Foundation is currently taking care of almost 650 orangutans with the support of 400 highly devoted staff, as well as experts in primatology, biodiversity, ecology, forest rehabilitation, agroforestry, community empowerment, education, and orangutan healthcare.

FUNDING SUSTAINABILITY

Funding sustainability, including fundraising and fund management
 

ORANGUTAN HABITAT

Orangutan habitat conservation, comprising management of wild orangutan habitat in the Mawas Area, Central Kalimantan, management of translocation and reintroduction sites, management of orangutan and sun bear conservation areas and facilitation of Best Management Practices (BMP) of orangutan habitat within other land-uses
  
INVOLVEMENT AND EMPOWERMENT

Involvement and empowerment of local communities, enhanced communication and publications, cooperation with stakeholders, conservation related research and outreach education and encouraging the improvement of relevant legislation
  
ORGANISATIONAL

Reintroducing - accelerating the release of Bornean orangutans from ex-situ to in-situ locations
Partnerships - promoting the participation of and partnership with all stakeholders
Protecting-encouraging the protection of Bornean orangutans and their habitat Increasing the empowerment of communities surrounding orangutan habitat

What are their missions?

Capacity Building - strengthening institutional capacity

Researching - supporting research and education activities for the conservation of Bornean orangutans and their habitat

Rescue - rehabilitation and reintroduction of orangutans and other protected species (sun bears), obtaining governmental permissions and approvals for reintroduction sites, translocation activities and post-release and translocation monitoring

Organisational - management and strengthening management systems
