National Rice Day 2020

Hello everyone ,
I hope all of you are doing great and staying fit and healthy. On June 29 every year in Nepal we celebrate National Rice Day and in Nepali we call it as Dhan Diwas. This day is celebrate by planting paddy seedlings and this day is regarded as the start of paddy cultivation. Farmers through mid to eachother planting seedlings of rice and after a long day of work they celebrate this day by eating curd , beaten rice and fruits and this day is also called as dahi chiura day ( curd and beaten rice  feast day ).

This day has a great importance in Nepalese culture as rice is needed from birth to death so it should be conserved and protected.National rice day is celebrated in Nepal since 2005 . 

According to a popular belief , if one touches mud on this day , one would be healthy, would earn good omen and will get recognition in the society and the importance of curd and beaten rice is that as it carries a great nutritional value as it helps to regenerate tired and worn out farmers and as farmers spend all day and night in mud and having curd and beaten rice help to fight against germs and curd also help to improve digestion.
