Reasons for protecting oceans (Thematic)

by Cassie Kenny | 19-06-2020 03:02

When we talk of oceans,we picture a large mass of salty water with not much value.People tend to only enjoy the sandy beaches and the cool breeze,we need to think beyond that.Oceans are far much useful than the few uses we may know.
The air we breathe, water we drink, food that we eat, new medicines, a climate we can live in, beauty, inspiration and recreation all depend in a way or another on the oceans and seas. We need to know that we belong to something bigger than ourselves. We want a better future for those we care about. To survive and prosper, we need healthy oceans and seas.
Water pollution means a rotten system in our digestive system and breathing system and even that brings a picture of filthy brains. For a clear conscious,a healthy being and prolonged stay on earth, that calls for discipline in the way we handle the season.
The whole ecosystem depends on the oceans for food, habitat and livelihood and it's upon us to keep it conducive to all the plants,an also, insects?fish and even the organism so that nothing goes extinct due to human carelessness.
The ocean is the largest ecosystem on Earth, it is the planet¡¯s life support system. Oceans generate half of the oxygen we breathe and, at any given moment, they contain more than 97% of the world¡¯s water. Oceans provide at least a sixth of the animal protein people eat. Living oceans absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and reduce climate change impacts. The diversity and productivity of the world¡¯s oceans is a vital interest for humankind. Our security, our economy, our very survival all require healthy oceans.
