World Blood Donor Day 2020

When a person voluntarily gives blood drawn and used for transfusions to another people is called blood donation. Those people who donate blood are Blood donors and to respect their contribution June 14 is marked as World Blood Donor Day.

Give blood and save lives!!

Persons with the following conditions are not allowed to donate blood :

Cancer.

Cardiac disease.

Lung disease.

Hepatitis B and C.

HIV infection, AIDS or Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD)

High risk occupation (e.g. prostitution)

Unexplained weight loss of more than 5 kg over 6 months, etc

The campaign theme for this year's World Blood Donor Day is ¡°Safe blood saves lives¡± with the slogan ¡°Give blood and make the world a healthier place¡±.

Do participate in blood donation programs if held nearby you. Needy people can get life because of your blood.
