World Food safety Day and Online Webinar

June 7 is celebrated as World food safety day since 2019.The second world food safety day is celebrated on 7 June 2020 to draw attention and inspire action to help ,prevent ,detect and manage health risks and food borne risks ,contributing to food safety ,human health ,economic prosperity ,agriculture ,market access,tourism and sustainable development.

 

Food is one important part of our life.The food we eat determine our health,daily activities and state of well being. It provide energy required for metabolic activities and immune our body against different disease and infections .Food safety refers to handling,preparing and storing food in a way to best reduce the risk of individual becoming sick from food-borne illness.

 

Participation on Webinar Food security to food safety

 

On the occasion of World food safety day 2020 , Empowering  Youth in Sustainable Agriculture (EYOSA) organised a online webinar on the topic food security to food safety.The webinar was started at 10:45 am and ended at about 1:30 pm.The webinar focused mainly on Cool storage,Roof top farming ,hydroponic and aeroponics  .It focused on how these branches of agriculture help for food security in Nepal and connect with food chain system.There were separate speaker for each topic. This webinar was quite informative and I got different new ideas and knowledge on Cool Storage,Rooftop farming and hydroponic nad areoponics.In this way,I celebrated and increase my knowledge with EYOSA team on World food safety day staying safely at my home.
