World Environment Day 2020

This year, the theme is Time for nature celebrating biodiversity

In 1972 World Environment Day (WED) was established by United Nations General Assembly at the first day of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment, resulting from discussions on the integration of human interactions and the environment. After that after two years in 1974 first WED was held with the theme “Only one earth”

Every year, June 5 is celebrated as World Environment Day (WED) focusing on worldwide awareness of environment, improve political attention and action.

In 2019, WED was hosted by China and theme that year was “Air pollution”

Now, In 2020 the theme is Time for nature celebrating biodiversity and is hosted by Colombia. As there are One million species facing extinction, so it more important time to focus on biodiversity.
