by Sonika Pariyar | 02-06-2020 21:47

Biogas is a type of biofuel that is naturally produced from the decomposition of organic waste.Organic wastes such as food waste, animal manures and agricultural bi products ,are broken done under anaerobic condition, they release a blend of gases carbon dioxide and methane. This process occurs in absences if oxygen so it is also called anaerobic digestion.Biogas can be prepared at home for household use as well as prepared commercially.

Advantages of biogas

1. It is renewable source of energy.

2. It reduces soil and water pollution.

3. Prevent Health Problem and Biodiversity loss.

4. Generates Organic Fertilizer.

5. It is simple and low cost technology.

6. Healthy cooking alternatives of developing areas.

7. Have high calorific  value.

8. Burns easily has a convenient ignition temperature.

Disadvantage of biogas

1. Initial cost of instalment of biogas plant is high.

2. Number of cattle owned by average family is inadequate to feed biogas plant.

3. Poor biogas yield due to impurities in production process.
