Youth And Mental Health

If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and without flavor. Life is such a mysterious journey. And youth is time of life who is too old to be children and too inexperience to be adult. Similarly, mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act.

Mental health is important at every stage of life. And in case of youth ,it is highly important. Youth is the time where people want  to find their own identity and ask crucial questions like where am I?  why am I here? So, at this stage of life it is highly important to be mentally fit and fine.

But nowadays, youth are confused about what to do and what not to do in their life. People are not  satisfy about what they have. They seek things and becoming more expressive and vulnerable, want more and more in their life. Nowadays here is highly increasing hype of tiktok, instagram, facebook etc. Due to which people compare their own  life to other.

As a result people suffer from mental illness. People goes on depression, feeling of being trapped. They  try to live away from family and friends. They start  expressing depressive thoughts and plans of committing suicide on social media. And committing suicide is one of the most  scary result of being mentally ill. Globally close to 800000 people die by suicide every year. And in Nepal in the year 2075/2076 5754 people had lose their life because of suicide. And seriously! If these things will happened for long time then there will be a day when 13 years old child can also get a panic attack.

And yes, off course! It is possible to overcome from the mental disorder. For this first of all person needs to talk openly about their thoughts to a family ,member or their trust able person. Along with involvement in social spiritual and traditional activities can be the best way. Similarly, consulting with psychologist, psychiatrist is another best way to overcome from mental illness. And each of us should stop the habit of compare ourselves to other. We should be happy with what we have. And in our society most of the time, we do not listen to other and ignore their problems. As a result, people feel uncomfortable to share their problem with other.

Therefore, No one become mentally ill with his/her choice, it happens according to their life situation. Being  mentally ill is not a joke. So, we should be readily available to help someone. We should inspire them to have a positive outlook on life. We should show non-judgmental, empathetic and accepting behavior towards them. And "As umbrella may not stop the rain but allows us to stand on rain like this our small effort may not totally help people from mental illness but surely can give a way to overcome from it". So, Let's start  listening from today. SAVE  HUMAN ! SAVE HUMANITY.
