Hello everyone,

As today it's 21st of May and this day is represented by the symbol of a Girl which also tried to convey us a message that human and biodiversity are connected. If one is harmed the other have to suffer and it's human responsibility to conserve biodiversity.

This symbol also tries to tell us abou the role of indigenous and local people towards biodiversity.

Indigenous people are those who inhabited a country or geographical region at the time when people of different cultures or ethnic origins arrived. The knowledge and culture of indigenous and local communities have developed from experience gained over centuries and adapted to local culture and environment.

Traditional biodiversity related knowledge by agriculturist is of great significance to food security such as traditional methods of irrigation , crop production , and maintenance of seed storage , cultivar , traditional water management system.

The indigenous people are dependent on traditional biodiversity related knowledge for harvesting of wild food and animals , medicines , water and other basic needs.

Each and every practice of indigenous people are favourable for environment and leads to conservation of biodiversity.

Happy International Day of Biological Diversity to all tunza warriors in advance.
