Wet bed nursery in paddy is used in areas where water is abundant. It is prepared 25-35 days before transplanting.

Steps for wet bed nursery:

- At first a proper land is selected where irrigation and drainage can be controlled.T land should be ploughed twice and puddled with 2/3 ploughings.

- When field turns into soft puddled conditions it's raised and bonded, with convenient width-length .For 100m^2 area

1:0.4:0.5 kg of N:P2O5:K2O can be mixed with soil.

- Seeds are soaked for 24 hours, pre-germinated seeds are broadcasted.Top dress with N should be done before transplanting.

Advantages:

- Less seed is required.

- Can be grown in any type of soil.

- Grows quickly

- Strong seedlings

Disadvantages:

- Water supply is essential

- Seeds might get carried away by water.
