![]() THE WORLD IS DARK
Covid-19 is here and the world needs unity Voices are locked behind doors Like prisoners behind prison cells A crown symbolises power Covid-19 is dictating the world with its power
Tears are being shed like a pregnant cloud in labour We don¡¯t know when all the pain will be gone; When we could see beyond our tears And hope that a new baby will be born And the pain of labour will soon be gone
For the frontline workers we say thank you Our joys may be clad in words but we mean it To sacrifice a life for another¡¯s Is something we cannot overlook We seek for protection on your behalves
All we have now is to stay home Home alone and practice more hygienic measures Draw closer to our families and loved one And hope that we¡¯d finally get to the end of this tunnel Because there¡¯s always a light shining at the end The above is a poem I wrote and submitted due to an opportunity that was posted by Mithila Tamang on the 7th on April 2020 in the opportunities section of this noble platform. As a creative writer, I decided to participate to help heal the world with words. Though I could not win, I got recognised and I was awarded a certificate. I am using this platform to say a big thank you Mithila Tamang for posting the opportunity here and also encourage all fellow ambassadors to take advantage of the opportunities made available here, we just do not know what we could gain from it. Thanks Mithila! Green Cheers from Ghana! |
