Wet wipes and it's effects

by Heemani Singh | 26-04-2020 12:09

Hello everyone ,
I hope you are doing well and great and staying safe and healthy.
Most of us use wet wipes in our daily or we use when we travel and it is even used especially for babies . Wet wipes are most convenient way to clean your skin when it gets too sticky or dirty.

Wet wipes are often advertised as flushable implying they are somewhat environment friendly but they actually cause a wide range of problems and even harm the environment.

Most wet wipes contain plastic fibre, which make them partially non biodegradable .These disposable wet wipes which are essentially an instant soapy wash cloth that doesn't require quick rinsing and promise to to disinfect is not that safe as we think.

Just because they are technically disposable doesn't mean they disintegrate completely instead they are simply shuffled off aewhere else ,where they proceed to harm the enviroment. Most of wet wipes contain plastic fibres and they don't get decomposed easily and harm the environment and when they make their way to ocean the aquatic animals ingest them and eventually die.Besides that wet wipes contain preservative and fragrance that shouldn't come in contact with skin and especially infants skin.It may sometimes cause rashes in skin .Wet wipes contain toxic chemicals which is harmful for our skin. Thus these wetwipes not only harm our environment but it affects our health too.
