by Sudha Bhandari | 22-04-2020 10:30

Hello everyone,
I hope all of you are doing well and staying safe at home .A warm good morning to you all and Happy Earth Day 2020 to all tunza members. The theme for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day is Climate action.

Climate change is the biggest challenge today and to the future of humanity. It is the biggest challenge but also provides us opportunity to take various against climate change.

All of us have shared our different ideas and views regarding the causes of climate change ,it's effects on various factors of enviroment and even their solutions too.
I know that all of us are very concerned about our environment and our mother earth So,on this Earth Day let's take a pledge to do our work in the favour of our environment and encourage people around us to do so because it's us who can motivate the people around us to be serious and concerned towards our mother earth.

Together we can S.A.V.E the planet. Here S stands to speak up ,A stands for To act, V stands for Vote and E stands for educate. These are the 4 ways for this year to celebrate Earth Day. We can find the full description of these methods on earth day.org .From all these ways I decided to take actions that means I choosed to act and there were all together 24 actions which I can take for this Earth Day.  Outof those actions the most suitable action for me was asking 3 freinds to vote for earth. It was suitable for me because as in this lockdown period I can't go outside and this action can be done digitally at home and if I encourage my three other freinds including me the voice will be more stronger .To protect our planet we must demand that policymakers do more to bring the world to a net zero carbon future. As voting we have enormous power to drive change by making our voices hard.If you also want to commit vote or take actions then you can go through the link below.(1)You can either choose the Act option Or the Vote option.Lets raise our voice and demonstrate our concern towards the planet by taking any of the action .Despite voting I even tried to grow different plants and reused the beer bottles to make a lamp.

Despite this in this lockdown period I did some work which is favourable to environment and which I have shared with all of you earlier also. Such as compost preparation at home by utilizing biodegradable waste and reusing the plastic bottles to plant flowers inspire of throwing them.

At last I want to share a information with all of you about Bhutan. Some of you have might known it already. Bhutan is the only carbon negative country in the world. Today while scrolling the news feed at Facebook I found a video regarding this which I will share with all of you in the l ink below (2).After that I went through Google to know more about it and I came to know about following facts of Bhutan.72% of Bhutan is still covered with forest. They export most of the hydro electric power they generate from their river. This offsets million tons of carbondioxide

They have made constitution related to forest that forest area should not drop below 60% .Free electricity is provided to rural farmers. A ban was put on export logging.By 2030 Bhutan plan is to reach zero net greenhouse gas admission and to produce zero waste .Other initiative of Bhutan is to include a partnership with Nissan to provide the country with electric cars with intention of eventually cahnging all vechiles to electric.I spite of throwing or disposing plastic ware or bottles they are reusing and recycling them. Some amount of the money coming from tourism is invested for sustainability development.

Bhutan has started protecting their environment and contributing to save our mother earth. As I got to know something new so I shared it with you . For full description check the link below(3).
