Air quality

Greeting to everyone!!!

In many countries,AQI is used to inform public about air quality or the degree of pollution, which is calculated in different ways. The AQI works like a thermometer that runs from 0-500¡Æ. Good AQI is 0-50,Air pollution poses no risk at this level.
Department Of Environment (DOEnv) with technical support from International Center for Mountain Development (ICIMOD), designed a decade long air quality monitoring plan for Nepal in 2015. Fifty six locations around the country including 14 in Kathmandu valley, were identified as locations for air quality monitoring stations. Recently 42 monitoring station were kept in different places. Major critical situation is seen in Lumbini - 126.8 mg per meter and Dang- 56.2 mg per meter. According to Nepal AQI, air pollution level is moderate in dang and it is unhealthy for sensitive groups in Lumbini.
The major concern is that, during these lockdown days from months, neither vehicles nor factories are run in these cities. What may be the reason behind this deterioration in air quality???
