[Free Report] World Water Day

by Jaewon Chang | 06-04-2020 14:42

Water is an integral part of our lives. Whether it is the consumption of freshwater or tapwater to wash our hands, we never go a day without it. Thus, it is inconceivable to imagine a life without the access to freshwater. According to the UN, 2.2 billion people in the world lack access to safe water. In response to this alarming fact, World Water Day was created in hopes of promoting sustainable management techniques of our resources.

World Water Day tackles the 6th Sustainable Development Goal: Water and Sanitation for all. It is an annual event held on March 22. This year, the core focus of the event was investigating the relationship between water and climate change. It was concluded that sustainable usage of water can assist the battle against climate change. Furthermore, one of the keypoints from the World Water Day seminar was the acknowledgement that every person's contribution is necessary for change.

We must recognize the importance of sustainable resource management, especially in the current era (where a pandemic is affecting our globe). Taking measures to conserve water is essential to combat climate change. Ultimately, our everyday actions will drive the future of Earth.
