All of us have endeavoured to better the environment at some point in our lives. Whether this is through actively engaging in campaigns to preserve the environment, or simply using both sides of a paper before throwing it away, we have all contributed to the preservation of the environment. If I was told to nominate one person who has endeavoured to better the environment, it would be my mother. She would always accentuate the importance of preserving the environment, teaching me ways that I could protect it, such as saving electricity and water. Her active participation in Earth Day allowed the day to be an integral part of our lives. Viewing my mother as a role model, I was inspired to do the same. I actively began seeking out service opportunities relating to environmental preservation and environmental programs (like Tunza) to spread my interest in the environment with others. Through her help, I believe I was able to become the human I am today. |
