Stand against child abuse

by Prashanti Aryal | 31-03-2020 20:32

Child abuse or child maltreatment is physical, sexual, and/or psychological maltreatment or neglect of a child or children, especially by a parent or a caregiver. Child abuse may include any act or failure to act by a parent or a caregiver that results in actual or potential harm to a child, and can occur in a child's home, or in the organizations, schools or communities the child interacts with.

Some examples of child abuse are:
1. Child labour
2. Child trafficking
3. Forced adoption, etc

This is not an act to be done.
That's why, we followed up a programme from Amnesty. We created an awareness program among children on how they must not be allured by other words.

The objective of spreading awareness among the school children about their rights, health and hygiene and encouraging them to speak for themselves against child abuse and take a stand for their rights. Different sessions addressing the following topics were conducted:
1. Child abuse
2. Child sexual harrasment
3. Child molestation
4. Junk food and its effects on children's health.
5. Personal hygiene
Then we asked them to write something against child abuse on paper and you can see their words in poster.

As a responsible citizen, we are awared of child abuse and we aware other also well; do you?
