Pollution We find everyone talking about pollution-pollution of air, water, food and everything. When we try the study the problem of pollution we find that we ourselves are responsible for causing this pollution. People in general, do not take care to keep their surroundings clean and these lead to pollution.

This pollution causes ill health and gives rise to so many health as well as environmental problems. It has become a bigger threat than war to mankind and to all other living beings. The basic causes of pollution are industrialization and growth in population. Industrialization and population growth have aid to environmental changes that have become harmful to all living beings. With rise in population, the number of vehicles factories and industries also have increased. The smoke coming out of them makes the air polluted. The smoke contains many poisonous gases.

 People breathe this air. The result is that their lungs inhale these polluted gases which cause so many lung diseases even leading to bronchitis, asthma and tuberculosis. Then there is water pollution. The water we drink is lifted from the rivers, stored and then sent to us through pipe lines. But all our rivers receive all the sewage from the city drains Even underground water is becoming polluted as the filth and garbage Over the earth seeps down when it rains and the underground water also gets polluted. All the lakes, ponds wells of today contain polluted water. People are cutting down trees.

This is because, more population, more need of fuel and timber. Loss of trees means the loss of oxygen- the healthy gas. Even too much use of fertilizers and pesticides causes soil pollution. It is duty of each and every one in this earth to work against pollution spreading rapidly.
