The rainy season gives a new life to the earth. Everything lies dead in summer. It is cloud that brings showers. A shower of rain is a life force. No plant or crop can grow without the help of rain. What will happen if there is no rain? There will be famine and death everywhere. This lovely earth will turn into a desert. The whole creation of God will fail. No wonder, rain is regarded as a God in Nepal. This God is perhaps the most important God. It is the god of life itself. Spring, no doubt, is beautiful but is not useful. Spring gives a beauty to plants and flowers, but who gives them life? The beauty of rose will vanish if there is no rain. Rainy season is like a mother that feeds and nurses these flowers. That is, spring gives only beauty but rainy season gives life. You can not love summer, either, why? Summer is like an angry bride. She will burn if you even touch her. What about winter? Well, none can love this old lady. But the worst of all is the autumn. It is a period of decay and death. Who likes such a deathbed?

In the rainy season, the sky is covered with clouds. The sun can not be seen for many days. Rivers and canals are filled with water. Sometimes, rivers flow their banks. There are landslides in the hilly regions. The roads are often blocked by landslides. Buses and cars seem to run through water. But with the coming of the rainy season nature gets new life. The beauty of this season charms and lures all.

Green trees, grass and paddy fields are beautiful attractions of this season. Artists are charmed by the beauty of this season. Sweet smelling flowers add luster to the beauty. But the rainy season is very dirty. This is one of the disadvantages of rainy season. It is full of mud. In hilly regions, roads are often blocked. People cannot go out for work. People living in cottages have to suffer much. Their roofs leak. Their houses are damp. Sometimes their houses are even washed away by floods. Many people become homeless. Cattle and crops are also destroyed.

The rainy season is useful to us. Though it looks dirty, this produces something beautiful. The rainfall makes farmers happy a makes their crops grow well. Thus, it provides us a lotus born in mud. Can a lotus born in a clean place? Can the lovely spring give birth even one lotus?
