Do you know fact about global warming?

by Soyam Dhamala | 30-03-2020 22:34

Due to tremendous amount of evolution of greenhouse gases such as production of oxides of nitrogen and carbon by burning of fuels and bio gases, the mean temperature of the earth is observed to be in high in recent years. This increase in temperature of the earth is known as global warming.

It is estimated that by the year 1995, the temperature will be increased from 1.5 to 4.5 degree Celsius. Effects of global warming are as follows:

a.forests may be effected due to inhospitable environment caused by global warming.

b. formation of glacier lakes may give rise to floods.
 c. it upsets the balance of nature with some plat species becoming so dominant that other are eliminated.

 d. glaciers in mountains recede causing decreasing discharge in snow fed river.
e. Snow in mountain melt causing more floods during summer.
f. Frequency of hurricane and cyclones may increase.
g. A rise in average temperature throughout the word by 2 degrees to 3-degree C would most probably result in the melting of large quantities of polar ice and thus leads to a rise in sea level and to the loss of large tracts of land. In addition, it may cause a damaging influence on coastal marine life, costal ground water supplies may become contaminated with salts and coastal cities may vanish.
