Earth Hour (monthly event)

by Bal krishna Pandey | 30-03-2020 17:21

 This time I was at laboratory  and I celebrated this moment. I switched off all the lab lights and lit the lamp for an hour between 8.30PM to 9.30PM on the 28th March. Due to the unavailability of commercial candles during this lock down period, we used homemade lamp which is made up of cotton and mustard oil on a small copper cup.  My internship adviser Dr. Jitendra Shrestha,Veterinary officer, Livestock and Poultry Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, Karnali Province also supported me to celebrate this great campaign.

People are staying indoors. Pollution is decreasing unimaginably. I think this time nature has found its way into original beauty. We need to change our daily life, not only to protect ourselves against disease, but also to protect our surroundings as a natural heritage. Of course, we will meditate that for the sake of sustainable development and humankind, nature should not be degraded from its original form;

The event began in historic 2007 in Sydney, where WWF and various organizations worked together with the iconic Lights Out.
At that time, they inspired people to turn off the lights, whose main purpose was to focus people of huge number on climate change.As a festival, which is celebrated every year today, has the support of hundreds of millions of people from over 180 countries worldwide, and they are directly and indirectly making the program a success. This campaign has welcomed everyone into the important message that the world is the common home of all of us, we are the guardian to all creatures , it is our responsibility.
We celebrated  the Earth Hour at home during this calamity today. I believe that there are many heroes in the world who are doing exemplary work with no identity, no selfishness, and I want to honor them indifferently. A candle can illuminate. In an hour's time we can do a lot for nature, such as turning off the lights and joining our hands against climate change.
