What is mental health??

We generally focus on physical health rather than mental health.Physical health disorder can be seen more than mental disorder . Mental disorder kills person inside-inside. Physical along with mental health is required for healthy life and well being.

 

Mental health refers to our cognitive, behavioural, and emotional well being – it is all about how we think, feel, and behave. The term 'mental health' is sometimes used to mean an absence of a mental disorder. Mental health can affect daily life, relationships, and even physical health.

 

Good mental health is related to mental and psychological well-being. WHO¡¯s work to improve the mental health of individuals and society at large includes the promotion of mental well-being, the prevention of mental disorders, the protection of human rights and the care of people affected by mental disorders

1. Around 1 in 5 world children and adolescence have mental disorder.

2. Depression in one of the leading cause of disability ,affecting 264 millions   people.

3. About half of mental disorder starts before the age of 14.

4. About 1 in 9 in setting affected by by conflict have a moderate or severe mental disorder.

5. People having severe mental disorder dies 10-20 years before general population.
