by Meena Pandey | 29-03-2020 13:30

The earth hour is the simple idea that quickly turned into a global phenomenon.  Earth hour is celebrated every year in 28 March in which people belonging to different communities, business and individuals make their non-essential light turn off so as to show commitment to the planet. The celebration of earth hour was started from Australia in 31 March, 2007in the support for climate action and in the present context more than 180 countries celebrates the earth hour. Every year earth hour is celebrated annually and is observed by WWF. More than 2.2 million individuals and 2,000 businesses turned their lights out for one hour. It is a campaign of WWF and ITUC is supporting this initiative.
Just an hour of light off makes huge difference in the energy consumption. The earth hour evokes for immediate action for global climate change. Earth hour donot set itself for reduction in carbon exercise rather it symbolize for the action for carbon reduction exercise.
Being a regional ambassador of TUNZA eco-generation , I also turned the light for an hour, an felt blessed to be the part of the global action for climate change.
