A brief precise of Pangloin

Introduction:
Pangloin is a unique mammal and endangered species in the world. Altogether, their are 8 species of Pangloin in Asia and Africa. They are listed as the most trafficked mammal in the world.

Characteristics: 
They are also known as scaly anteaters and are covered in hard,plate like scales. But it's chest and belly are covered with soft hair. Their tail are prehensile. They are teeth-less creature. They have very poor vision, so they rely heavily on smell and hearing. They spend most of their day curled in a ball. They are slow maturing, reaching sexual maturity in two years, and they produce only one young at a time. Life span of Pangloin is more than 20 years. They are insectivorous(especially ants and termites eater) and nocturnal. 

Behaviour:
They are solitary and the only time Pangloin spend time together is when they mate and bear young. When it is threatened it rolls up into a ball and emits an unpleasant smell like a skunk. Pangloins can swim. They help in pest control and improving soil quality.

Threats:
The primary threats to most Pangloin species is illegal hunting and poaching for local use and illicit international trade. In some areas, Pangloins are scarified for rainmaking ceremonies and in other they are hunted for meat. Also, they are being degraded by heavily deforestation of their natural habitat. They are listed in IUCN red list of threatened species. Many attempts have been made to conserve Pangloin by different agencies.
