[Thematic Report] Salomón Marín - Change with example

by Claudia Marin | 21-03-2020 13:28

Not just famous people can change the world, but also people who live with us, who may be considered as "non-important", who is not known around the world. Let me tell you that everyone who cares about the environment is important because that person is making really good changes in order to stop pollution in his/her community.

In this opportunity, I present you to Salomón Marín, a peruvian and primary school teacher. However, the most admiring thing I rescue from him is his passion for taking care of the environment. I had the pleasure to be his student and I learned a lot from him. During this time, he organized cleanings inside and outside the school. Likewise, he participated in lots of environment-oriented workshops as well as in walks.

As a teacher, he always highlighted the importance of caring about our world, and that inspired me to become a defender of conservation and care of nature, and I'm sure my other classmates felt and wished the same as me.

For his actions, I consider he is a very good example of the following quote by Eduardo Galeano: "Many small people, in small places, doing small things can change the world", because he has inspired many people about taking care of the environment by doing simple but very useful and beneficial things for our nature. Perhaps his impact didn't go as far as other world-renowned figures, but the work he did during his lifetime was very significant to me and to the care of our world.
