People's Action Change The World

People who does even a little bit for the environment are the ones that amaze me. They try to do their part in making the environment better. Even I myself started from something small. I brought my own tumbler. Then I'd participate in planting mangroves, and doing beach cleanup. In each environmental activity, I got to meet a lot of amazing people who have contributed more in making the environment a better place. I even picked up habits from them because they inspire me.

As an example, my mentors from a leadership camp thought me to appreciate every little things people do for the environment. We cannot belittle them for every little thing they do not do for the environment, because we cannot control them. So instead of belittling people, I appreciate them. In hopes thay they would do more for the environment, or keep doing the little small deeds they do for the environment. From these mentors, I also started to slowly create a habit of buying food with my own containers. Most of the time as well, I won't accept plastic bags.

Aside habits, I get to learn about technologies in helping the earth from JEA. Technology plays a vital role in either helping or destroying mother nature. But examples of innovations are like the eco-brick, where plastics are compacted inside a plastic bottle. I learned about all these cool stuff in my journey of being involved with the environment. I got to befriend and meet amazing people. Such as a person who made the movement to ban plastic bag in Indonesia that even became a reality. As well as someone who voiced her concern about plastic in the ocean, where she moved to action.

Every little thing we do for the environment matters. Even if it's small, I believe that slowly a lot more green acts can be done. Along the way, you might also be inspiring people. You never know. So keep doing what you are doing, and be happy.
