ENVIRONMENTAL LEGACY NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN. [THEMATIC REPORT]

by Anthony Duxell Malle | 19-03-2020 05:39

When ever I am opportune to hear or read about Nelson Mandela, I always feel like my heart is skipping off my body . His great activism towards protecting the environment and promoting peace among humanity can never go unnoticed. I don't think it can ever be forgotten in this generation or future  generation. I will always remember this great icon for all his struggles in the betterment of the environment . He usually quoted that. "WHAT COUNTS IN LIFE IS NOT THE MERE FACT THAT WE HAVE LIVED.IT IS WHAT DIFFERENCE WE HAVE MADE TO THE LIVES OF OTHERS THAT WILL DETERMINE THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE LIFE WE LEAD." Nelson Mandela was able to achieved more for his community and country,  through his outstanding public speaking skills as history reminds me. In earth summit on August 28, 2002. His voice was so loud and clear when he stated that:
" When I return, as I often do , to the rural village and area of my childhood and youth, the poverty of the people and devastation of the natural environment painfully strikes. And in that impoverishment of natural environment ,it is the absence of access to clean water that strike most visibly.that our government has made significant progress in bring portable water nearer to so many people than was previously the case. I rate amongst most important achievements of democracy in our country
Amongst the many things I learnt, as a president of our country, was the centrality of water in social, political and economical affairs of the country, continent and indeed the world, I am, therefore, a totally committed "water person."
He was an amazing Conservationist because of his great affection and passion for animals and nature especially endanger species which later  lead him to be a co-founder of the peace parks foundation. Just to name a few of his achievements, He received a Global praise for his political work and anti-apartheid position and also , won the 1993  Nobel peace prize, Soviet Order of lenin and the U.S presidential medal of freedom and more than 250 different awards.
Nelson Mandela was indeed a man of virtue and infinite charisma and he was also known for his friendly nature and a great character of humility . Every 18th July of every year is celebrated all over the world as international Mandela Day Which has been aimed at inspiring individuals to take action to help change their environment, community and the world for the better, and also to build a global movement for good, to seeks to empowers communities everywhere.
It will be unfair if I don't mention, the founder and co-founder of the Tunza Eco Generation and its entire team for creating such an wonderful and dynamic platform in other to promote and encouraging youth all over the world to be able to innovative and how they can solve environmental problems as well as making some of us from local communities for our voices to be heard at a global scale.
Thanks Tunza Eco Generation Team and all my fellow ambassador for their insightful reports your efforts can not be forgotten.
