Single Use Plastic Ban [Free Report]

by Rohan Kapur | 10-03-2020 22:30

Single Use Plastic Ban

Dear Fellow Ambassadors, Plastic forms one of our ways of life. Its convenient & cheap but is immensely harmful to the environment. It takes many years to decompose & invariably sits at the ocean beds, garbage dumps, landfills etc. Recyclable & good to decompose plastic is safe to use but Single Use Plastic is deadly for the eco-system.

Glaring examples of Single Use Plastic are day-to-day use carry-bags, wrappers, sachets, caps, bottles, shampoo, soap, containers etc. Normally they are disposed to the garbage when the contents in the container are all used & the plastic container is empty.

Throwing these plastic packaging adds up at the land-fills and creates a huge nuisance to the authorities. Therefore, many countries have come-up with various legislation to ban Single Use Plastic.

Many developing & developed nations have taken strong initiatives to ban Single Use Plastic and the number is rising each day. Abu-Dhabi has just announced that by 2021 all Single Use Plastic shall be banned. The link to the news article is attached for a quick reference:

Governments are taking up the challenges but it is our responsibility also to reuse the single use plastic containers. They may be used in various forms. Shampoo bottles may be filled with sachets & so on. I strongly urge all the Tunza Ambassadors to reuse such products & try to minimise the load on Land Fills.

Thanks for reading.
