![]() Every year March 3, World wildlife Day is celebrated to raise awareness and promote protection for all wild flora and fauna found in the world. For every creature and plant in the world, mother earth is a common place, it is the responsibility of human beings to protect and preserve all creatures and plants. World Wildlife Day will be celebrated in 2020 under the theme "Sustaining all life on Earth", encompassing all wild animal and plant species as key components of the world's biodiversity. Wildlife includes all undomesticated living plants and animals. Generally, we have three used terms for animals: domestic, wild and captive. Captivity is term of being confined and control. For e.g. zoo animals are under captive condition. Though wildlife is under rated and ignored as limited aesthetic and tourism value, I am going to explain its importance in detail Here are some values of wildlife: The ultimate purpose is safeguarding the biological life system in the earth. Commercial wildlife values: selling or treading wildlife and their parts, wildlife farming, wildlife hunting, sports Recreational wildlife values: pleasure, adventure and advance physical and mental condition from wildlife activities(wildlife photography, watching) Eco tourism: recreation, employment and revenue Some eco-tourism activities like elephant safari, jungle walk, bird watching, view tower tourism, canoe ride, home stay, cultural show Biological wildlife values: contribution of wildlife to healthy eco systems, stability, pollination, seed disposal, nutrient transport etc. Scientific and educational wildlife values: ecology, behavior, physiology etc., information for conservation Aesthetic wildlife values: beauty, historical significance, part of literature, poetry, art, music Religious wildlife values: e.g. worship of elephant by Hindus Social wildlife values: income, less stress, natural treatment protocol, mental health Undiscovered wildlife values: eg: medicinal value Wildlife is huge part of ecosystem. There are also some negative parts of wildlife called by human beings. Human wildlife conflict is a main threat to wildlife for their sustainability. Use of electric defense system to conserve crops and other human resources is one of the major causes of mortality od wildlife animals in Nepal. Recently in Nepal, rhinoceros are dying more than expected within a short period and human wildlife conflict is a major cause of it. Nepal is a home of wildlife plants and animals. Nepal occupies only 0.1% area of the earth but biodiversity in here owns about 4.5% of mammals, 9.3% of birds, 2.7% of flowering plants,1% amphibians, 1.6%reptiles, 4% butterflies and 1% freshwater fishes. In my point of view, following things should be focused for conservation of wildlife:
