This is because the subject of food cannot be handled isolated from the environment, since the food itself, is a product of the environment. Therefore, it is important to establish the link between these two factors. It will be therefore be right to say that the supply or continuous availability of food is greatly dependent on the healthiness of the environment. This has clearly been proven in history, where areas plagued by massive environmental disasters, suffered huge food shortages. Therefore, to ensure food security, the environment has to be greatly cared for.
