 Maha Shivaratri is one of the festival celebrated in Nepal .Its in celebrated in other hindu countries too. It is celebrated annually in the honour of Lord Shiva. People often fast on the night of Shivaratri and sings hymns and praised on the name of Lord Shiva.It is believe that who fast on this night and often prayer to Lord Shiva bring goodluck in their life. In Nepal, government has given public holiday on Shivaratri. People visit different Shiva temple Like Pashupatinath .In many part of country, diiferent mela are conducted on this day.The culture of eating prasad in which certain amount of bhag is added is popular on Shivaratri.
