by Sandhya Adhikari | 20-02-2020 03:35

The concept of social justice is contextually bound and historic. A philosophical theory of social justice asserts around equality among people along various social dimensions. It is a long historic concept that arose in early 19th century during the industrial revolution aiming to create more egalitarian societies and Capitalistic exploitation of human labor now the Social justice has broadened from its main centered motto including other spheres of social life to include environment, race, gender and other causes and forms of inequality.

Having glance to the current scenario of the world, we are living in such a world that is increasingly fragmented where some of the region enjoy and experience better manifest of peace, prosperity and equity while other bears endless cycle of conflict, violence and war either on the race, exploitation, inequality, territorial conflict like that of India and Pakistan. Those region where the violence, injustice is in peak level, the development has been abruptly disturbed. So we can say social justice is most almost underlying principle for prosperous existence within and among different nation. There are many social issues which incurred due to gender, race, ethnicity, religion, culture which has invited inevitable conflict and barrier. We hold the principle and motto of justice when we empower other for the promotion of gender equality. Every time when we hear the news how still the Nirmala Pant murder case has brought chaos on the whole nation, how the case of acid victim Muskan Khatun brought disdain in the country, how the Durbarmarg Gang rape has engulfed all the peace and prosperity of nation. Until and unless those innocent faces of terai girl for not bringing dowry are respected, until there exists the gender inequality and discrimination, we can¡¯t imagine a Prosperous life and peace in the society and as a whole.

To sum up, we can only achieve peace through equity, equality, inclusiveness, empowerment. By identifying, analyzing and addressing the root cause of the social injustice will uplift equitable development with human at centre creating balanced coordination between development and peaceful societies. Thus, realizing all these the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) also aim to significantly reduce all forms of violence, join and collaborate with communities and government to find solution of conflict and promote peace and prosperity as promoting peace and justice is one of 17 Global Goals that make up the 2030 Agenda for sustainable Development. Thus we can conclude that without social justice it is impossible to bring peace and prosperity in the society and as a whole.
