by Manisha Ghimire | 15-02-2020 16:21

On the occasion  of world Pangolin day,I have collected some informations and facts about them.
Pangolins also  called scaly anteaters ,are the mammals of the order Pholidota. There are eight species of Pangolins worldwide 4 in Africa and 4 in Asia. They are the only mammals having their entire body covered by protective keratin scales.A Pangolin's tongue is longer than the Pangolin itself. They have no teeth ,chew with gravel and keratinous spines which are located  inside stomach.20% of the Pangolin's weight is comprised of scales. They can consume about 70million ants per year. Ten of the thousands of wild Pangolins are killed every year for  the  scales and flesh and this creature is sadly known to be the most heavily trafficked animal in the world.
