Status of Climate Change in South Asia and South East Asia

by Yushika Subedi | 11-02-2020 01:04

South Asia and south east Asia together cover one fifth of world¡¯s total forest area. Despite having the most biologically diverse ecosystem on the planet, about 350 million people do not get enough food and water. Due to geo-physical conditions and socio-economic-demographic backwardness these regions are projected as one of the worst affected regions from global warming and climate change. The region is facing the challenge of providing enough water for drinking and growing food because the population is increasing at a rapid pace. There is a significant pollution problem in South Asia.  During the winter, the temperature drops and causes smog to hang in the air.  This has become a major problem in Bangladesh, India, and Nepal.
But we have to be real glad that youths like us are reducing it.
