The Problem with Water

by Jaewon Chang | 24-01-2020 21:45

When you go to the bathroom and brush your teeth, do you leave the tap running? This is a relatively common act performed by many. In this report, I wish to introduce an issue that is associated with water, namely Water Scarcity. Water Scarcity is dearth of water to meet the demands for it within a region. Simply put, the issue refers to the lack of water.

There are various ways in which water is used, with the most well-known being clean drinking water. Around our Earth, approximately 1.2 billion people lack access to clean drinking water. There are other uses of water in sectors such as agriculture, industry and electricity. The World Economic Forum has listed the shortage of water as a global issue that poses one of the biggest threats in its potential impact to our Earth over the next decade.

We as youth must realize that although we are only 1 in 7 billion people on earth, collectively we are much more. Through our collective effort, water scarcity issues can be surely be resolved.
